INTRODUCTION WELCOME
The Hotel Restaurant Canè is glad to welcome you all year long
in Dozza, typical medieval village situated only 32 km from Bologna
and 6 Km from Imola. The village of Dozza is famous for the walls of
its houses, which have been decorated and painted by important Italian
and foreign painters and for its typical collection of vintage wines
of the region.
Under the typical porticos that flank the main road leading to the ancient
Fortress, you will find the entrance of the Hotel Restaurant Cane’.
If you have the chance of staying in one of the 12 rooms equipped with
the most up-to–date technologies available, you will certainly
appreciate the professional service and the traditional kindness for
which Hotel Restaurant Cané is renowned for.
The restaurant has a wide hall that is suitable for every occasion:
from wedding ceremonies to business lunches and company dinners. The
show-piece of the restaurant is the summer terrace, embellished with
plants and colourful flowers from which our guests can enjoy a magnificent
panoramic view.

THE HOTEL
The renovation works which ended in July 2004 have been mainly concentrated
on the rooms of the hotel.
The 12 rooms available (2 of them are single rooms) were made taking
the utmost attention to the kind of materials employed. The furniture
in every room is in cherry wood, all the beds are extremely comfortable
and orthopaedic with wooden panels; all the rooms are equipped with
safe, minibar, hairdryer , the sanitary appliances are suspended in
order to ensure more hygienic bathrooms.
The same care has also been paid to the technological aspect of your
stay in our hotel.
Every room has private air-conditioning, plasma satellite TV set with
satellite and Internet facilities.

OUR HISTORY
The Hotel Restaurant Cané was opened in 1928 and it is considered
one of the historical hotel restaurants of the area. It managed to keep
up with the times renovating the quality of its services while keeping
the gastronomic tradition of the region and the hospitality untouched.
The ability to stay in tune with the needs of its customers and give
them what they are looking for in terms of quality and services, constitute
still today the points of strength of this structure that has been consolidating
its position over the years.
The Hotel Restaurant was established by Giulio Canè who managed
beautifully the Hotel and the Restaurant from 1928 up to 1959 and the
place took the name from his family.
During those years the place was a point of reference for many people
who loved to meet for pleasant moments and refreshment.
From 1960 the hotel was managed by Giuliano Carreri (Giulio Cané’s
son-in-law), who, helped by his family, could run the entire structure
with great ability until 1983, when the hotel-restaurant was managed
by the Gaddoni family.
In December 2001 the Gaddoni family bought also the property.
The willingness to offer its customers an increasingly better service
took its shape in January 2002 when the Gaddoni family started the renovation
works of the entire complex. The works ended in July 2004.
Today as in the past the hotel restaurant Canè is an enchanting
meeting place for the pleasure of body and mind.
THE RESTAURANT
For the restaurant service we have two inside halls and an enchanting
outside terrace with a breathtaking view.
The wider inside hall is perfect for ceremonies, and it can fit up to
one hundred people. It is a non-smoking room and it is fully air-conditioned
with a constant change of air. The other inside hall has arches and
handmade columns in stone, it can fit up to 50 people and it is a smoking
area.
During the period APRIL – SEPTEMBER the restaurant service takes
place in a beautiful terrace, from which our guests can enjoy a wonderful
panoramic view. You can have a view of the images in the “photo
gallery” of our site.
The typical dishes of the restaurant belong to the cuisine of the Italian
region Emilia-Romagna, where great attention is given to first courses.
As for second courses the most striking one is the spicy grilled chicken
cooked barbecued with wood, the speciality of the house.
Prices are highly competitive and the quality-price ratio is excellent.

This is a selection of our starters:
- smoked round carpaccio (thinly sliced raw meat, specially fillet)
seasoned with a cancassé of fresh tomatoes, basil and rocket
- pork loin seasoned with vegetable vinaigrette;
- smoked swordfish with hot bread ;
- country salad seasoned with aromatic vinegar.
Among our fist courses you will find :
- Tortellini bolognesi in capon broth ;
- Taglioline with pore mushrooms ;
- Green gnocchetti (potato dumplings) with mascarpone sauce;
- Gnocchetti verdi with Italian blue cheese and nuts ;
- Tagliatelle with ham pasta sauce
As for the second courses we suggest :
- spicy grilled chicken and roasted rabbit according to ancient recipes

- sliced fillet steak with extra virgin olive oil rosemary–scented
;
- mixed fry of vegetables (not battered) with courgettes, aubergines,
potatoes and sweet creams.
For those who have a sweet tooth and are looking for mouth-watering
desserts, we suggest waffles filled with cold mascarpone and seasoned
with hot chocolate, coffee and zabaglione semifreddo (Italian dessert
which is served cold), panna cotta with caramel sugar and cassata cake
containing ricotta cheese, chocolate and candied fruits.
The list of wines includes more than 180 labels, one third of which
are wines of Emilia-Romagna region, a dozen French wines and the remaining
represent the other Italian regions.

Dozza is situated 12 km from Imola and 32 km from Bologna
If you are coming from the North :
On the highway Bologna-Ancona take the Castel San Pietro Terme exit,
then turn left on the San Carlo way. After three km you will reach Castel
San Pietro Terme, turn left again on the via Emilia S.S.9, and follow
this main road for 5 Km. After Toscanella proceed for a km and then
turn right, proceed along via Calanco for 3 Km and you are in DOZZA.
If you take via XX Settembre, that is the main road leading to the castle,
you will find the Hotel restaurant Cané under to portico on the
right hand side.
If you are coming from the SOUTH:
On the highway Ancona-Bologna take the Imola exit, then turn lefy on
the S.S. Selice. After 3 Km you will reach Imola, then turn right on
the S.S. 9 via Emilia and after 4 Km on the left you will join via Calanco
to reach DOZZA.
If you take via XX Settembre, that is the main road leading to the castle,
you will find the Hotel restaurant Cané under to portico on the
right hand side.
